Please share any questions that you would like to have addressed at our Improving Mental Health for Youth panel.
Our panel will focus on helping youth and their caregivers grow the resilience-boosting resource of self-compassion. Panel members Christine Lathren, Karen Bluth, Gabi Garcia, Lisa Baylis and me will help to answer your questions. If we don’t have time to answer all of your questions during the panel, we’ll address your question in a future newsletter!
Two Questions from the panel chat that I plan to address in a future newsletter (feel free to post more):
How do we encourage young people to become conscientious about big issues without becoming anxious about them? Thinking specifically about whether it’s helpful for teens to be concerned about things like climate change or if that adds pressure to them that they don’t need?
My teen obsesses about how she looks and I think it’s related to how much time she spends on social media. Any tips on encouraging her to a) spend less time on social media and b) have a more compassionate view of herself and stop comparing herself to others?
